Fixing the World & Wishful Thinking

I'm sat here thinking of something to type. I want to do a blog and I can't think of a thing to say. I've been thinking about people today and how there are a lot of them suffering needless misery all over the world. I'm glad I can't hear the thoughts of them! Imagine hearing every heart broken prayer, every miserable thought in the whole world. I do think my brain would literally explode into vinegar flavoured candy balls. Yes that is an odd thing to say.... but thats because I need to exersize my desire to amuse.
Yea anyway, for a few reasons my empathy has been sparked lately and I found myself wishing I had a way of stopping peoples' misery and pain and suffering, which I have kind of discussed with a lovely kind treasure of a person of very wise counsel. I was basically told that I am doing what I can with what I have at my disposal. Granted that is true and I am glad I can do what I can. However, like most people who experience this.... epiphany (?) I just wish I could do more.
I once discussed super powers once and said how I would like to have the power to heal people - to which I was told it would be a bad idea because people from all over the world would plague me constantly to be healed from this or that. Granted thats a damn good reason to not have that kind of power. But still.... If I did I would have my grandmother still. I would have my lil white doggy still. Thinking about this more, I wonder... if this was a real ability, would it just stop disease, or would it heal bones and organs? Would it heal aging and make people younger again? Even more reason to not have it because the world would go absolutely insane over that! Virtual immortality. I'd probably get a good shouting at if I said I still wished I could do it.
I hear the screaming word Naivete being slung at me here... well to that I must say I'm sorry, but if I could do it I would. Or would I? Would I be screwing with nature by stopping people from dying? probably, probably not. Nature has nothing to do with someone being beaten to death or being hit by a bus.
ANYWAY, enough of the realms of wishful thinking. I should say why this came up. It happened just yesterday as I was getting some apple juice from the fridge. I wasn't even really that thirsty, I was just a little bored. It dawned on me that I was taking this carton of apple juice for granted... then the rest of it. The freezer full of food, the roof over my head, the central heating and electricity and in a stark comparison there are people who are dying because they have nothing to drink but filthy poisonous water, who don't have a national health service, or even a hospital. They don't have TVs and vacuum sealed packets of bacon and chicken and fizzy drinks. At this point I was feeling pretty guilty. Though I have been assured that I am lucky and priveladged and shouldn't feel guilty.
I love my world and the race I belong to - even though people can be damn awful to eachother. We're all the same. We're one big family and we should care for eachother.
I'm gonna shut up now or folk will think I'm a crazy hippy or something. I'll leave ya all with one last thing... the quote of today!
